This is the name of the project launched by María Larroca, who used to work in the administrative side of TV, that transforms her passion for flamenco into an entrepreneurial adventure. Maria’s idea is to enable tourists to experience real, authentic flamenco, which isn’t always what we see at tablaos and typical flamenco venues.
Vive la pasión flamenca offers different options. If you fancy the VPF Experience, all you have to do is phone or send an email (you can do so in English if you don’t speak Spanish) with your details and the date of your visit to Madrid. Maria will find a show that meets your needs and will manage the booking so that all you have to do is make your way to the venue and enjoy the performance.
For those looking for a special, exclusive experience, Maria has created the VPF Studio Experience (VIP) and the VPF Family Experience (VIP). The first offers you the chance to witness the live recording of a flamenco album at Spain’s top recording studio run by producer and singer-songwriter Paco Ortega.
The VPF Family Experience (VIP) allows you to enjoy a flamenco party in a typical gypsy household, surrounded by the artistic talent of the best performers on the current Spanish music scene, performing exclusively for you!
What’s more, Maria is at your entire disposal to try and meet even the most extravagant requests. Your wish is her command.
This special ambassador for flamenco has a fantastic relationship with Paco Ortega, who has worked closely with the likes of Morente, Paco de Lucía, Niña Pastori, El Cigala, Mercé, Joaquín Cortés, to name just a few. This means that she doesn’t know the meaning of the word “impossible”.
I myself enjoyed a unique flamenco evening thanks to Maria, and have experienced firsthand this one-of-a-kind project in Madrid. We went to Teatro Fernán Gómez to see Quijote Flamenco 2015 by Vicente Soto “Sordera” (accompanied by guitarist Miguel Salado, pianist Carlos Rodríguez, drummer Manu Soto, and Lely Soto and Lela Agarrado on backing vocals). But the experience didn’t end there: we went backstage to the dressing rooms, spoke with Vicente and the other performers, got our picture taken with them, etc. And, just when I thought there were no more surprises, I was given a signed copy of the cantaor’s album Colores Distintos!
If you want to be the star of your own unique flamenco story, get in touch with Maria!
Purist and fusion flamenco is on offer to businesses and events agencies that organize company and private events. Vive la pasión flamenca provides a #NOTOURIST vision of flamenco for all those wishing to really experience and understand this art form which has been listed as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
And if you want to know all the secrets of the flamenco palos (styles), Maria would be delighted to share them with you over a beer or a glass of wine.
