DocumentaMadrid
A couple of charming little American grannies rebel against the loss in value of their savings and the quality of the health services they receive; some disillusioned characters, survivors of several wars, live like losers pirates on the shores of the Black Sea; a cold-blooded murderer, one of those most responsible for genocide during World War II, shows his other tender and humane side when dealing with his family; a colourful group of people from very different backgrounds, seek refuge in a small village in the French Pyrenees, hoping to escape the end of the world; a man robs a bank to get the money his partner needs for a sex-change operation, the son of one of the founders of Hamas, a prisoner in an Israeli jail, agrees to spy for the Israeli secret services… Even though they could all well be plots for films based on fiction, they all, in fact, correspond to real people in real situations and are the subjects of the some of the films included in the DocumentaMadrid programme.
